Carlette was a speaker at the SPRING TRAINING 2006: THE POWER OF ATHLETE GIVING Conference. She spoke about learning how charitable giving can play an important role at different stages of an athlete's career.
Carlette spoke at the 2005 Sports Philanthropy Conference on Creating a Legacy Through Philanthropy. She spoke about the steps to take at different points in the career of an athlete in order to establish an off-court, -field, or -track significance and preserve their legacy after their career has ended.
Carlette was featured in a February 4, 2004 Los Angeles Times article, "Behind Every 7 Footer," a story on the unique problems faced by the wives of NBA players.
