Matt was drafted by the NBA in 1992 to the Golden State Warriors. He played 10 years of professional basketball for the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Washington Bullets, Denver Nuggets, and L.A. Clippers. Matt began his basketball career at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNC-W) where he received many awards including First Team All-Conference, the Thomas V. Mosley Most Outstanding Athlete award, several all-tournament, and MVP honors. Earning a B.A. in Communications at UNC-W, after playing professionally, he went back to school and earned a Master of Arts in Education and an M.B.A.

As PSV's Character Coach, Matt understands the importance of teaching character to the youth of America and enjoys tying his sports background with the language of sports to better reach the students.

Matt, his wife Rebecca, their son Justin, and daughter Noelle live in Chandler, Arizona.
